Skillazo Inc. ("ChekPal", "we", "us", or "our") operates the ChekPal mobile application (the "App") and website (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service. Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide
When you register for and use ChekPal, you provide us with the following information:
- Account Information: Name, email address, phone number, and password
- Profile Information: Time zone, check-in preferences, and notification settings
- Emergency Contact Information: Names, email addresses, and phone numbers of individuals you designate to receive alerts
- Check-In Data: Check-in names, descriptions, schedules, categories, and completion status
- Communications: Information you provide when contacting customer support or providing feedback
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
When you access our Service, we automatically collect:
- Device Information: Device type, operating system, unique device identifiers, mobile network information
- Usage Data: App interactions, features used, check-in timestamps, notification delivery status
- Log Data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, time and date of access, time spent on pages
- Location Data: Approximate location based on IP address (we do not collect precise GPS location)
1.3 Information from Third Parties
We may receive information about you from third-party services used to facilitate our Service, including authentication providers (e.g., Google Sign-In, Apple Sign-In), payment processors, and communication service providers (SMS, email, push notification services).
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- Service Delivery: To create and manage your account, facilitate check-ins, send reminder notifications, and alert your emergency contacts when you miss check-ins
- Communication: To send you service-related announcements, technical notices, updates, security alerts, and support messages
- Improvement: To understand how users interact with our Service, analyze trends, and improve features and user experience
- Safety and Security: To detect, prevent, and address technical issues, fraud, and abuse; to verify accounts and activity; to monitor and analyze security incidents

- Marketing: With your consent, to send promotional communications about new features, products, or services (you may opt out at any time)
3. How We Share Your Information
We may share your information in the following circumstances:
3.1 Emergency Contacts
We share check-in status and alert information with the emergency contacts you designate. This is a core function of the Service. Your emergency contacts will receive notifications via SMS, email, or push notification when you miss a check-in, including your name, the missed check-in details, and the time the alert was triggered.
3.2 Service Providers
We share information with third-party service providers who perform services on our behalf:
- Cloud Infrastructure: Hosting and database services (Supabase, AWS)
- Communication Services: SMS delivery (Twilio), email delivery (SendGrid), push notifications (Firebase Cloud Messaging), WhatsApp messaging
- Analytics: Usage analytics and error tracking
- Payment Processing: Payment processing and billing (Stripe)
These service providers are contractually obligated to protect your information and use it only for the purposes we specify.
SMS / Mobile Messaging Data Sharing: No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We may share information with service providers solely to deliver and support messaging services (e.g., SMS providers). All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties except aggregators and providers of the text messaging services.
3.3 Legal Requirements
We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to:
- Valid legal process (subpoena, court order, search warrant)
- Governmental or regulatory requests
- Investigations of potential violations of our Terms of Service
- Situations involving potential threats to physical safety or illegal activity
3.4 Business Transfers
In the event of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred to the acquiring entity. We will notify you via email or prominent notice in the App before your information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except for information we are required to retain for legal, regulatory, audit, or security purposes. Check-in logs may be retained in anonymized form for analytics purposes.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not knowingly collect or sell personal information of minors under 16.
